I like trying to find ways to be more organized and efficient. But I can also be easily sucked into a new system and a new set of products. I will keep the system going for awhile but then usually find that it just doesn't work for me and it falls to the way side and sometimes I've wasted money. After many cycles of that I cut myself off from buying any organizing products (i.e. desk organizers, electronics, planners, fancy filing products, etc...).
However, I keep seeing these advertisements for Peter Walsh's new [IN]PLACE System for Office Max and I finally checked out the website and I am totally intrigued. I love the simple clear white plastic material that most of the products are made out of, the white hanging file folders (Goodbye, yukko army green!) and how all the products work together but seem flexible enough to work separately or in ways unique to your needs. The file folders and tabs are reusable which is an eco-friendly plus in my book.
I might run to OM this weekend and check all the products out in person.
I forgot to show you this! After my mini-obsession with chalkboard paint, I finally used it at our house on the closet door in my studio.
I doubt I will ever actually draw or write on the door with chalk. I just love the matte blackness of it! I am planning on painting the front of our pantry door in our kitchen too.
A couple of notes: The doors throughout our house are cheap hollow-core, natural (ugly) finish doors. These are the first two that I have painted. I used (2) coats of Benjamin Moore primer and so far have applied (1) one finish coat of chalkboard paint (the brush-on kind) and Benjamin Moore Super White (my favorite white paint) semi-gloss on each door respectively. They both need (1) one additional finish coat. Really easy and fun.

School's back in, everyone's talking about fall fashion and some leaves are already falling off the trees here in West Chester. But this time of year is my favorite because Ken Knight gets their shipment of Stendig and Pentagram 08 calendars in and up on their website. 
I've been a devotee of the Pentagram in the 12X18, but am thinking of upgrading this year and going with the 36 in x 48 in Stendig. Both great to look at. The Stendig is larger so there is more room to write on it. And if you're a combination paper-organizing obsessed geek like me, the Stendig is also great for using those little colorful post-it notes which look great on the white and black backgrounds.
Use one color for each member of the family, or if you have a small family, color code your events (i.e. personal, work, birthdays, vacation, etc.).
Oh and don't forget about the beautiful Herman Yu calendars. I will end up with a calendar in every room!
